We are a Manatee Tour Guide Service in the Crystal River / Homosassa Springs, Florida area which is located on the West coast on the Gulf of Mexico. We specialize in small personalized tour groups of 2 to 6 people. Our adventure starts at the Manatee Tour Shop at 7:30 AM, there is a short briefing along with a video provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that will show you what you can and can not do. This is for the safety of the Manatees and divers. We are usually on the water by 8:30 in a closed in solar heated boat for your comfort.

Will We See Manatee?

We Guarantee a Manatee encounter. (See note below) We only book one tour per day so you can enjoy a relaxing fun filled experience. Our Manatee Tours are conducted in 70 to 72 degree crystal clear spring fed waters. To be able to enjoy the water for this period of time a wetsuit is highly recommended, if you do not have your own we rent these along with scuba tanks (if qualified), masks, snorkels, flippers, etc. We can also video tape your dive or you can take your own photos with underwater cameras that we offer for sale. All of this at a very reasonable rate.

Manatee Tours are snorkeling only (not scuba diving) You don't need to be a certified diver. We do tours with people from ages 5 (provided you can swim) to 105 (if you should be so lucky)

 

Information on Dive Tours Dive Tours & Snorkel Prices It is important to note that the movement of the Manatees is largely controlled by the water temperature of the Gulf. When the water temperature drops off to 65 the Manatees start to gather in the warm springs where we do our tours. This usually starts in October, as spring arrives the gulf warms and the Manatees start to leave.  Some Manatees stay year round but AirTank Divers does not do tours in those months.
